The job inadequacy, which leads to marginality (work less than 6 months), is sharply visible in the Sundarban (Table 4.9). Moreover, when this marginality highly persists in the principle means of livelihoods, the crisis becomes worse that leads to migration by leaps and bounds. More than one-third of the migrants (38%) have reported that they were engaged in farming before the move (Table 4.10). Likewise, fishing and daily or casual labourer accounts for 15% each. A fair proportion of migrants (9.0%) are forced to leave their study in middle and secondary standard to enter the job market.
